What is LS?
The learning support department is here to support all students learning. Our aim is to work with staff to ensure that all students achieve their potential. Learning support is based in C18 – next to the hall. You can find it by coming out of the double doors next to the snack machine and walking up the steps – we’re there on the right.

Who is LS for?
Any pupils who feel they need some extra support to achieve their best. Some examples are given below;
- Pupils who have been away from school and are behind with their work.
- Pupils who aren’t the best at organising themselves, perhaps forgetting homework or books regularly.
- Pupils who find that they are sometimes making a mess with their work.
- Pupils who sometimes don’t understand tasks that have been set and need a little more explanation.
- Pupils who lack a little bit of confidence in their abilities and need some reassurance.

How can I get help?
If you are struggling in any way tell your teacher or come to C18 at break or lunchtime and ask to speak to one of the team.
You can get help at lunchtimes in:
K1 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
You can also get some help in some of your lessons. Most help is usually done this way. Sometimes you may be taken out of lessons to have a test read to you or some help with other class work.
