Is Teleportation Possible?
By: Sophie and Tanisha
Scientists say that human teleportation is ‘possible’, after they transferred atoms three metres in a ground-breaking experiment! Nothing in the laws of physics allows the teleportation of large objects, including humans (researchers claim). Scientists were able to transport an atom three metres away with 100% accuracy.
Professor Hanson from Delta University in the Netherland said to the Mail Online: ‘ if you believe we are nothing more than a collection of atoms strung together in a particular way, then in principle it should be possible to teleport ourselves from one place to another.’
How did they do this?
In Professor Hanson’s experiment, three entangled particles – a nitrogen atom locked in a diamond crystal and two electrons were used to transfer spin information a distance of three metres.
We interviewed a teacher at our school and asked her if she thought it was possible to teleport. She said: “No, I do not think it is possible to teleport, and I don’t think it will happen anytime soon in the near future.”
