Mystery man's idea of parrot-dise

By: Anika

A man in Bolton has been trying to sell his house using a very odd technique. In almost every photo of the house he poses in a different way whether that be laying on the bed, huddled in the bathtub or having a barbeque on the patio.

Not to mention he’s dressed as a parrot!

Steve Laycock (Estate Agent) says that the parrot has requested anonymity but he tends to squawk rather than tweet.

Oddly, this approach seems to be working. A couple of viewings have been and gone and the agent has informed them that there are many more to come.

Upon asking teachers at my school (previous homebuyers) I came across mixed opinions about the selling technique. Mr. McElhone (Teacher at Littleover Community School) told me that he had already come across this story. It caught his attention almost immediately. When I asked him if it would have changed his opinion about the house he said, “It got my attention but it was a little bit off putting. "If I really liked the house I could consider it because the story would eventually disappear.”

However when I asked a second teacher (Mr Ashman, teacher at Littleover Community School) he told me that it was amusing and visually entertaining. It invoked his interest and made him wonder why he chose this unusual method. When I asked if it would change his opinion he said, “I don’t think it would put me off. It’s a good laugh, it’s different.”

We just hope the property flies of the market!
