Raptors May Be Facing Worrying Decision by Trading With Orlando Magic

In the early February 2017, the Toronto Raptors have agreed to acquire Serge Ibaka from the Orlando Magic for Terrence Ross for a total of 31 million dollars. The only reason for this is because of the gameplay - the defense was gradually getting beaten after weeks of losses and the team couldn’t bear it anymore.

So the team finally made a decision to trade the defender Terrence Ross for the Orlando magic defender Serge Ibaka. This decision could go one of two ways (good or bad). In the last game they played, he did not once score or shoot to help the team out, making this choice a very risky decision.

As a young fan of the team, I personally think they could do with another trade NBA season is over. The team could improve their defense and gain some more assists. Acquiring Serge Ibaka could potentially delay their team from rising to the top of the table once again, due to what his last performance shows.

I asked some other sport fans from Littleover Community School, in Derby, what they thought about the decision. One pupil said’ I think this is a mistake because he did no effect to stop the opposition from scoring’. However an opposing pupil said ’I think it is a good thing because of the gameplay, they needed to upgrade their defense’.

Even in younger fans the decision is causing discussion on whether it was worth what the manager payed for. Tension is rising as the team have a new player to prove the Raptors have made the right decision.
