Pollution is mostly from cars

Right now you might not know it, but you are killing three things, animals, nature and more importantly yourself.

 Over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 sea mammals are killed by pollution every year.  People who live in places with high levels of air pollutants have a 20% higher risk of death from lung cancer than people who live in less-polluted areas.  Pollution affects all areas of the Earth, including the water, soil and atmosphere causing immediate harm or long-term damage.

Pollution affects animals by destroying their habitats, poisoning them, starving them, forcing them to wake up early after hibernation. The repercussions of this is, food they normally eat might not be there such as plants and little animals.

It effects air, water, soil by substances that are harmful to living organisms. Pollution can occur naturally, for example through volcanic eruptions, or as the result of human activities, such as the spilling of oil or disposal of industrial waste.

Long-term exposure to polluted air can have permanent health effects such as: Accelerated aging of the lungs Loss of lung capacity and decreased lung function development of diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and possibly cancer Shortened life span.

I personally believe that we should stop this all together as its hurting all of us. Think about ways to prevent this such as recycling and composting. Maybe not using straws, plastic cotton buds and chewing gum. These simple thing could make a huge difference. I was finding out from people about littleover community school how we could help. The care taker at LCS said “I pick up 2 or more bags of rubbish every day.” so that is around 19 to 21 bags every week! He also said that we could “use the bins provided and pick up litter.” Abigail in year 7, age 11 said “ever y little bit helps!”
