Statistics of Crimes

			Statistics of Crimes
Policemen all around have to be ready for any type of crime.

Crime is a big issue at the moment and the statistics have nearly doubled over the past year and over half of them haven’t been taken to court. Just under 20% are still under investigation which shows people are getting away with these horrific crimes. 10% of them are taken to court but only 9% are actually dealt with this then shows that Court’s aren’t bothering to send them to jail. The last 6% is that the offender is dealt with by the police, but this is a small amount.

There are lots more crimes going on other than knife crimes. A crime that you wouldn’t really see in Derby is Vehicle crime which includes stealing cars/motorbikes and them being smashed up. Surprisingly only 1.04% of these crimes are robbery which is quite astonishing because you’d normally expect crime to be all about robbery. The biggest crime is anti-social behaviour and there has been around 2,335 of them over the past year.

In February 2018 the number of crimes went down by a lot but in March it went back up to just under 600.In May it went up to just over 600 and then all the way through to July it was consistent, but as we went into August it went down to just over 550 and stayed around that level until December when it decreased to 544. Kyra said ‘Crime is discriminating and I’m strongly against it.’ I’d have to agree with her opinion too.

Crime is discriminating and I'm strongly against it.
