Is having a job good for students

Sixth Form students in Britain feel like they need a part time job but, haven’t they got enough work to do regarding their A-Levels?

There are lots of advantages with having a part time job like, they can earn their own money which would help them prepare them for after they finish school.

Lots of Sixth Form students already have a part time job. At the moment, it is normal for students to have a part time job but, is it actually good for them?

Some students also work to show in their university applications that they have experience.

Mr Venkatesh (the head teacher) said: “Working part time is a good thing for Sixth Formers to do as it gives them experience and is a way for them to earn their own money. However, if the balance between studying and work is not equal, their school work could be heavily affected.”

Upon doing some research, the most popular reason why Sixth Form students have a part time job is to earn money. This could be for a number of reasons like saving up for university or just having their own money in their pocket.

Sidra, a sixth form student, said: “Personally, I would have a part time job for experience in skills because it helps your CV stand out, which is helpful for applying for university and apprenticeships.”
