Welcome to French

Modern Foreign Languages are core subjects in KS3 and KS4. All pupils will learn French in Year 7 and take up an additional language in Year 8 with a choice of German or Spanish. At the end of Year 9 almost all pupils will continue one language to GCSE but may choose to do both. French, German and Spanish will be offered to A Level.

The KS3 schemes of work are based on Expo 1, 2 and 3 for French. There will be regular assessment on Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Translation.

At GCSE pupils use Studio as well as a range of additional resources and language-learning websites.

At A Level students use the new Edexcel French textbooks as well as a wide-range of authentic resources.
