Welcome to Spanish

As a department we are passionate about Spanish and aim to foster a lifelong love of languages as students learn about the language and culture of the Spanish speaking world.

The KS3 schemes of work are based on Viva 1 and 2 for Spanish with regular opportunities to develop skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Translation.

At GCSE pupils follow the Edexcel Viva course as well as a range of additional resources and language-learning websites. Students develop confidence and proficiency in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Translation skills. The department enjoys excellent results at GCSE.

At A Level students use the new Edexcel A Level Spanish textbook linked to Hodder Boost online learning, as well as a wide range of authentic resources including films and books. Many students who have studied Spanish have gone on to study the language further at university or use it in their future career.
