Welcome to Technology

The Design and Technology Department at Littleover Community School is a successful and expanding faculty. It offers a wide range of material areas to all abilities from KS3 to KS5, producing excellent results.

KS3 students are offered a wide range of opportunities to introduce them to working with various materials within the Technology areas including Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering, Textiles and Food. Details of the projects the students complete are listed on the tables below. Students also complete a group projects to give students an understanding of sustainability issues when designing products.

KS4 students have the opportunity to complete the OCR course GCSE Design and Technology with a focus on one of the material areas or they can study OCR GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition. Details of the courses are also shown below.

We have a successful KS5 course where students have the opportunity to study A level Product Design or Fashion and Textiles . The courses are delivered in a varied and hands on method which has produced fantastic results in recent years. Our course and results are well known in Derby as we attract students from many other local schools to join our success.
