			Chelsea Legend Frank Lampard Sacked
Frank Lampard lasted just 18 months at Chelsea.

On the 25th of January 2021 Frank Lampard was fired from his role of Head-Coach at Chelsea FC. He had been at the club for 18 months. Lampard was sacked after spending £200 million on transfers.

There has been a few ups and downs in Lampard’s time at Chelsea. In his first season, the club had a transfer ban. This meant Lampard couldn’t spend any money to buy players. After the ban was removed, he spent over £200 million on seven major signings. These signings consisted of: Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, German duo Kai Havertz and Timo Werner. The players had been described as wasted money. The new signings scored almost no goals. They quickly went from “heroes to zeros”.

In his first season at the club, they came 4th in the Premier League and lost to Arsenal in the FA cup final. Fans were delighted with the way things were going after the first season with Lampard as boss. Therefore, this latest revelation has been a huge shock to the fans. Mason Mount said in a recent interview, “He’s helped me so much, so I have nothing but praise for him”. He also went on to say, “he has given me playing time and has helped me grow as a player at both Derby County and Chelsea”.

The club legend will be replaced by former Paris St-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel. He has managed one game so far beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0. The fans are excited and think that this manager could help them climb higher in the league. The team sit in 9th place in the Premier League at the moment.
