Derbyshire Constabulary has a zero-tolerance policy on illegal e-scooter use. Since November 2024, police have seized more than 560 e-scooters, and this approach has helped reduce the number of injuries involving e-scooters.

Because many riders are young people, it’s really important that both students and parents understand the risks — including fines, having the scooter seized, and possible legal consequences.

If you see someone riding an e-scooter illegally, you can report it:

By reporting incidents, you help police target problem areas and keep our communities safe.
