A message from your new Headteacher, Mrs Johnson

Our new Headteacher, Mrs Johnson, has sent a brief video to introduce herself to all LCS students, parents and carers.

The video will only be available to those with a school log on, and can be viewed by clicking on the link below. The link will take users to the stream page, where they will be asked to sign in to view the video. To view the video, you must sign in with an LCS account (students will need to do this). The video can be viewed until May 30th.

A message from our Medical Officer regarding students with medical conditions

Our Medical Officer, Ms McSkimming, would like to remind parents/carers about our protocols for students with certain existing medical conditions:

Asthma

Please ensure that your child/children carry their asthma inhaler with them at all times, if they have a diagnosis of Asthma recorded with school.

If your child uses a Symbicort inhaler, please let the Medical Officer know as soon as possible.

Hay Fever

If your child suffers with hay fever, please ensure they have had a tablet once a day, when needed, as school do not stock hay fever medications and cannot issue these to students.

School can hold any medications needed for each individual child, which will need to be brought in by the parent/carer and handed to Reception by prior appointment. Please contact the Medical Officer with any enquiries.

EpiPens and anaphylaxis

Please ensure your child has 2 adrenaline pens, which they should carry at all times e.g. in PE they must not be locked away in the changing rooms. Students who carry adrenaline pens must also carry 2 doses of antihistamine, alongside their adrenaline pens.

All medical conditions

Any changes of medical condition or new condition must be reported to school as soon as possible, even if your child has not been diagnosed with this condition. For example, fainting episodes/dizzy spells, menstrual issues, or students undergoing investigations for an ongoing medical concern.

Thank you for your support.

A McSkimming – LCS Medical Officer

Year 11 Study Leave arrangements

Information has been sent to all Year 11 parents/carers, regarding arrangements for study leave over the exam period. This period begins from today.

If you have not received this information, please check your ParentPay email account for messages from Mr Buchanan and Mr McElhone.

Any parents/carers unsure of these arrangements should email school using our admin@ email address.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Our school website has been updated to include all extra-curricular activities available this term. All activities can be seen at the web address below

Extra Curricular Activities

Please encourage your child(ren) to take part in at least one of the activities available this term, particularly if they have not taken part in an extra-curricular activity in the past. For students in Years 7-9, attendance at these activities can help with completion of the student Personal Development Passport.

Thank you for your continued support of our school, our students and our staff.

Keep safe.
